From Our Kitchen: Blueberry Lemonade

Summer is in full swing and we are revamping the blog by starting our NEW Summer Recipe series! Featuring delicious and refreshing summer recipes for the perfect summer soiree by the pool or picnic on the beach.

Our first obsession - simple, sweet, and delicious Blueberry Lemonade. This recipe is tart from the blueberries and tangy from the lemons and a creative spin on the classic summer favorite.

You’ll need:
1/2 cup ~ sugar
1 cup ~ fresh blueberries
3/4 cup ~ freshly squeezed lemon juice
6 cups of water
(serves 6)

Instructions:
  • To make the blueberry simple syrup, combine sugar and 1 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Stir in blueberries and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until blueberries have broken down, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Strain blueberry mixture through a cheesecloth or fine sieve; let cool.
  • In a large pitcher, whisk together blueberry simple syrup, lemon juice and 5 cups water. Place in the refrigerator until chilled.

You can also customize this recipe to your taste preferences and depending on how tart your blueberries are - use sparking water instead or add a smidge of vodka for a "grown-up" version.

We served our blueberry lemonade over ice and blueberries in our Morroccan Amber Glass Tumbler. Perfect for relaxing and cooling off in this summer heat! Enjoy~
